Additional protections
The cells protect the Survey PC from overvoltages and overcurrents.
Characteristics of protection cells and protection cell on cable:
Protection No. 1: Protection against indirect lightning phenomena between auxiliary and pipeline, U max: ±150Volts. Protection by gas spark gap discharge voltage (lightning arrester) 110Volts, discharge current 20kA 8/20µS.
Protection No. 2: Protection against ESD type discharge phenomena between electrode and indicator, U max: ± 50 Volts. Protection by bidirectional TVS diode Vrwm 22Volts, 3kW 10/1000µS.
Protection No. 3: Protection against indirect lightning phenomena between witness and pipe, U max: ± 50Volts, Imax: ± 500mA. Protection by 200mA fast fuse associated with a bidirectional TVS diode Vrwm 22Volts, 3kW 10/1000µS.
Protection No. 4: Protection against connection errors between indicator light and shunt U max: ±3Volts. Protection by 200mA fast fuse associated with a double ESD type 300W 8/20µS common anode diode.
